A dismembered montage of a historiated border, with the text removed, of gold cartouche frames with four scenes in gold monochrome, two inscibed 'Protecta Vestae sussitatis mortuis' (centre left) and 'Johannes destruit templum Dian[a]e' (centre right), garlands of flowers and fruit, lions' heads, naturalistic birds, cherubs and angels, and four medallions inscribed (clockwise from left): 'Qui / timet / deum faci / et bona', 'qui / conti /nens est iu / stiae appre / hendit / illam', 'quasi / mater / honori / fica ta', and 'et / ?ob /?stabit / il / le' (f. 81a; 335 x 245 mm); a cartouche, with the centre removed, of two old men trampling on dragons and plaques inscribed 'Super aspidem ei pasi / lis cum ambulabis' and 'et conculcabis le / onem et draconem' (f. 81c; 45 x 160 mm); a centre for the cartouche inscribed 'Apollonius de Bonfratellis / de Capranica / Capellae et Sacrestiae Apostolicae Miniator / Fecit Anno Domini MDLXIV / Sedente Pio IV Pontif Opt.
